The book of Ammon

Chapter 1

1        I Ammon am the son of Mosiah and was born upon the footstool of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2        And I have traveled abroad these many centuries unto the places of the kingdom of God and though he did not walk upon these places, yet shall he even in the flesh come unto many and gather his sheep.

3        My first recalled record of the things that I have done in the name of the Lord while upon my mission abroad was to go unto the place call Kelpar and minister unto the souls of that place.

4        And I did come in the meridian of time for them and did speak boldly of Christ and that he should come unto those who were chosen to obtain his will and yet if they would forsake the gods of their making and go no more after them, that the God of heaven and of the earth and of the universe of his name should bring back unto them the special places that they once had as spirits.

5        And that I was the messenger from the presence of God to declare unto them the teachings of Jesus Christ and they reviled upon me and spit upon me and called down the power of their gods upon my flesh, but as time had no power upon my flesh, even so did their power which was held in time have no affect upon the same.

6        And as I saw that they could not hurt me I did speak more boldly concerning Christ and that he was the way, the truth, and the life and that no man or women could come back unto the presence of the Father, save through him.

7        And it came to pass that they did shun me from the places of their gathering, yet there were three who did come unto me after the rest had departed.

8        And they did say that they had been shown dreams of my coming and were prepared, and that the gods of their world were like unto the sand under the feet of the God of heaven, even the great I Am.

9        And they spake unto me in prophecy saying that thus saith the Lord of heaven, I shall by the mouths of those assembled here and those who believe upon their name unto the very end and beginning of the time of their world shall bring us into the kingdoms of his power, for I did see that the man Adam was the head and tail of this world, even as the flesh of the same.

10    And that the worlds of his creation were populated by the worlds creations that were given unto him by the very hand of God.

11    And that these things might be magnified a thousand fold at each juncture where a world was tied by the priesthood power unto the world that governs it.

12    And then I did teach the words of Christ, even all of the words that he has spoken unto me from the beginning to the very end.

13    And these are contained in the annals of my name.

14    And they are had among the children of Kelpar of the mountains of Briss of the storehouse of Peleg who is named for the dividing of the lands.

15    And the seed of my literal body was given by command of God unto many who were of the places that I was called to venture in.

16    And I was given of them wives of my choosing and we were sealed under the hands of the Holy Ghost at the throne of God.

17    And thus I make an end of these words.

Chapter 2

1         And now it came to pass that the blood of my son was shed without purpose and my soul was rent with anguish.

2         And I sought revenge upon the Lamanites and children of the kings of high birth as they called themselves.

3         And did in this mood go to the Father to ask for his guidance.

4         And he spake unto me saying, Ammon my son, let go the heart that filled with anger and seek no more to counsel your God.

5         And I spake saying, Oh Lord, forgive my weak soul and let me tarry awhile to show the Love of your pure light unto those who have sought evil against my flesh and blood.

6         And the Lord spake saying, get you up unto the place of many waters and kneel in might prayer unto me and offer up your blood as a sacrifice of truth and purity.

7         And I spake saying, yeah Lord, and I did arise and get up and go to my home and did tell my wife that I was to be no more in the flesh, but that the Lord had required my blood to atone for the evil of my heart.

8         And we wept and held each other for a long time and the voice of the Lord spake unto me saying, arise and go into the field.

9         And I arose and went out into the field of wheat which was before me and did see a lion preening itself to be clean.

10      And then it arose swiftly and came after me, and I cried unto the Lord and rent my clothing and said be it unto thee according to thy will and be it unto all of your creations the same.

11      And if you require my blood, this day, at the hand of this beast, then I shall gladly give it.

12      And the Lord spake saying, thus saith the Lord, do not move and you shall live.

13      And I watched as the lion prowled closer unto me and finally came to open its mighty jaws before me.

14      And did place them over my head and was trying to close them, yet I could feel the virtue of faith holding back the mouth of the lion from fulfilling it physical desires.

15      And we did remain as thus until the fall of night came upon us and the lion withdrew a pace or two and shook its head.

16      And I did speak unto the Lord in my heart praising his name, but spake not a word unto the lion.

17      And yet the lion spake unto me and said, I have come to feast upon your flesh, yet I have been stayed by the faith of your spirit.

18      And then he left like the manner that he came.
