ManofSin

If we read 2 Thessalonians 2:3 we find.

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Now by this verse, we can see two things happening together: a falling of a great church, and the man who will cause it, and all this before the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the book of Jacob, chapter 7, verse 2 it reads:

Jacob 7:2. Let no man deceive you by any means; for there shall come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; yea, the great and terrible monsoon.

This verse reads almost the same, but has a few words at the end to tell us, the world, who he is. These two chapters are actually very close in words, though I have just posted one of the verses, and now the Lord is telling me to allow you see all of that chapter; therefore, I will give you the rest of the words of Jacob chapter 7, and you can look up 2 Thessalonians 2 for yourself.

Jacob 7
1. Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him, that ye be not soon removed in mind, or troubled by letter, except ye receive it first from us; neither by spirit, nor by word, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2. Let no man deceive you by any means; for there shall come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; yea, the great and terrible monsoon.
3. For yea, who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
4. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
5. For now again I refresh thy mind, that ye may know that the man of sin shall arise and he shall withhold from the saints of the Most High God the right ways of God.
6. For the mystery already is at work, and he it is who now worketh, and Christ suffereth him to work, until the time shall be fulfilled that he shall be taken out of the way.
7. And then shall that wicked one be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming.
8. Yea, the Lord, even Jesus Christ, whose coming is not until after there shall be a falling away, by the working of Satan with all power, and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceitfulness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because of the truth, that they may be saved.
9. And for this cause God shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie; that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
10. But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.
11. Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
12. Therefore, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
13. Now our Lord Jesus himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and establish you in all good word and work.
